Just moved from the valleys of Wales to Central London and have gone from having a full signal to having nothing at all. No-one can reach me and I’m locked into about another 12 months of 02 contract misery. When I do get a signal (which is half the time when at work in Canary Wharf, and apparently goes from a full signal on one side of my desk to “No Service” on the other) I get dropped calls and an internet connection which is cripplingly slow. Really do believe that there should be a mechanism for terminating a contract in the event that the quality of service is at such a ridiculously sub-par level.

I have been super happy with 02 for several years but am seething how the iPhone experience I’ve been long looking forward to is ruined.
I work at canary wharf-i have no signal all day long only on the dlr each way to Stratford then it goes again at forest gate. Dropped calls in e7 texts not going through- it’s a f$$$$$g tracvesty! even more ashamed I got several friends trapped into stupid 24 months too now argh! Might aswell be a god damn touch for all it’s redundant phone capabities ( if the battery doesn’t die within an afternoon)

so gutted. Every tv ad seems like a slap in my bitter face!!

You don’t have to live in London to have rubbish service. Without doubt 02 is the worst network I have ever been on. The iPhone experience is very poor as the signal constantly drops from 3G throughout Birmingham and the Black Country. This means that apps don’t work properly as many require 3G to work properly. I feel co
nned by 02 and the worst part about it is the way in which they have all this kudos via the 02 arena and have the anount of subscribers. I never had this problem with T-Mobile and yet they had less subscribers!!. It’s all hype with 02 and no substance.

I live in London E2 – less than half a mile from the City, the largest financial district in the WORLD and I consistently have NO SERVICE. Texts don’t arrive until the following day, people who call me go straight to voicemail, and visual voicemail is CONSTANTLY ‘temporarily’ unavailable. O2 are horrendous. The sooner they lose exclusivity for the iPhone the better. **Rant over**

I have no problems whatsoever with O2’s network but I’m not using one of those form-before-function iPhones – pause whilst asbestos underwear donned I spend too many hours on conference calls either on my business Blackberry or personal N95 and rarely experience service problems other than when driving through the hills of Derbyshire (where in my experience O2’s service is superior to other networks).

I am completely fed up as well, crappy network, 3G does not work most of the time, people get answering service without the phone ringing, long delay before the call goes through etc..etc..

This really has become one of the crappiest networks…

Your blog comes up under ‘o2 sucks’ on google. I am so exasperated with this crappy network. It’s totally destroying the iphone as an experience. I am sitting on the fourth floor of an office on Oxford Street – about as urban central you can get, and I cant send a txt message and have no service. it’s beyond pathetic. surely apple has under service agreement terms the right to terminate exclusivity now with such a terrible partner.

I work in EC4A and get intermittent or no reception on a daily basis. I was with Vodafone for 10 years and had no problems at all.

O2 areclearly unable to deal with the number of phones now subscribed to the network.

I hope that the exclusive contract to O2 is terminated shortly.

You are not alone. I work in the EC2A area and will not receive calls all day. Texts take 2 hours or more to come through and visual voice mail will not work. On occasion I can make calls, but receiving is impossible.

I got so fed up with customer services I email the chief executive directly – search the net for his email address – and have been allowed to cancel my contract at no charge. Unfortunately I have to give the handset back, but what use is an iphone if the phone doesn’t work?

O2 really are shit!
